A Note From Jillian

In one of our early sketch meetings, I said to Kristen, “I have an idea for a quarter-zip with small ruffles to add a touch of femininity.” She immediately replied, “I sketched a skort with little ruffles at the bottom.” In that moment, a perfect pairing was born between “The Julie” and “The Kristen” skort.

Julie is a dear friend of mine who gravitates toward soft colors and feminine styles, and she always looks effortlessly beautiful. This piece reflects that spirit. While I’m often drawn to details with a bit of edge, I also appreciate softness. I love the juxtaposition of flirty, feminine designs like this alongside more structured styles such as “The Laura” or “The Jillian”.

From the beginning, I knew the ruffles had to complement the piece, not overwhelm it. The size and shape we chose feel intentional, balanced, and just playful enough.
